Snorkeling in the Park of Baia

Have you ever seen an underwater city? Come with us to see the ancient Roman city of Baia. The city, being at four meters depth, has a perfect visibility from the surface and you could easily see it while snorkeling!
To do the Snorkeling Experience no license is required and the minimum age to participate is seven years old.
Explore the wonders of the ancient Roman city of Baia, the Roman city where luxury was the standard, that is today in part underwater due to the strong volcanic activity of the Phlegrean Fields, the geological area we are inside of.
The phenomenon called bradisism made the earth level slowly sink down over the years, so today the Roman Villas that were in front of the sea are about four meters underwater, and the sea has preserved them to us in a marvellous way.
Once you arrive at the Diving Center you will attend a short theoretical lesson conducted by our instructors, to best explain the safety procedures, the equipment you will be using and how to behave in the water. You will know all you need to be safe and to enjoy each second of your experience!
We will provide you with all of the equipment you need, you will only need to bring your swimming suit, a towel and some clean clothes to get changed afterwards if you wish to. Once we're ready we will go by boat to the Archaeological Park of Baia where we will admire ancient mosaics, statues, marble floors and all of the ancient structures of the Roman city of Baia (beloved by emperors and senators) and of course the sea life that populates it today! All the while, we'll be swimming among a multitude of colourful fish that will make the experience even more special. The tour will last approximately 45 minutes, following one of the visit routes predisposed by the Park, and our guides will always be by your side to give you the best support and help possible, and to ensure you live an unforgettable experience!
After the snorkeling activity we will return to the Diving Center, where you will have at your disposal showers and changing rooms, and usually some refreshments are not missing.

- Upon request it is possible to reserve lunch with a partner restaurant. The menu includes: ten tastings of appetizers, a first and second course chosen from the various options, wine, water and dessert. The price is 35€ per person.
- Entry to other archeological sites that we will be seeing and talking about from a distance is not included (eg the Castle of Baia or the Terme of Baia), entrance costs approximately 5 euros.
- Entry to the Temple of Venus, which we will see from outside very close, but is currently closed to the public for visits.
- Transfer to and from the Diving Center, you are expected to reach our location by yourself, either by bus (ticket is about 2.5 euros and the stop is right in front of the Diving Center), or by train (about 15 minutes walk from us) or Taxi (more or less 70 euros from Napoli). If you need help reaching us we will be willing to help in any way possible, and we also offer pick ups by boat for personal dives (prices vary, starting from 150 euros)

- The Park of Baia has different visit routes, and we will be visiting only one of them at a time (each lasts about one hour), if you have any preference on what you wish to see you can tell us and we will do our best to schedule it.

Itinerary
Meeting - one hour before the experience
We will meet at the Diving Center, and you will be able to make yourself at home!
Preparation of the equipment
We will be preparing the equipment we will need and you will be able to try out what's the size that best fits you
Briefing of the experience and of the Archaeological Park of Baia
Your snorkeling guide will give you a briefing about Baia, about the specific dive site you will visit, and about the safe practices you will be following during the snorkeling tour
Boat transfer to the dive site - approximately five minutes
You will hop on board of our small boat to reach the restricted area of the Archeological Park, in just a few minutes
Snorkeling experience - approximately one hour
You will be snorkeling in the water for approximately one hour: this is the time that we have available on the bouy of the Archeological Park. You will snorkel in one of the many different dive sites in the Park of Baia.
Boat transfer to the port
We will be navigating back to the same place we got on board
Shower/Change
Back at the Diving Center, you will be able to take a fresh shower to get some salt off and to get changed with clean clothes if you brought them!
End of the experience
You will be free to go, and we will be sad to see you leave, but not after a good chat about the marvellous things we will have been snorkeling upon!
